WARNING

LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WIND 35-55, IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC UP TO 70, AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 90 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WIND 35-65, TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY OF NW WIND 30-40 KNOTS. SEA IN THE OPEN 5-6. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northeast, while a low over the Tyrrhenian Sea is gradually shifting toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, in places E wind, 15-30, in the North Adriatic up to 40, and in the Velebit Channel up to 50 knots. In the South Adriatic SE, in places E wind, 18-36, gradually diminishing in the afternoon to 12-28 knots and turning to NW. Sea 4-5, in the open possibly up to 6. Visibility 5-15 km. Mainly cloudy with snow or rain in places, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic with isolated rain showers and thunder, possibly heavier. No significant change in air temperatures.

Moderate to strong NE, in the open of the South Adriatic NW wind, gradually diminishing. In the North Adriatic moderate to near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force, at first up to storm force, NE wind. Sea slight and moderate, in the North Adriatic rough, and in the open up to very rough.
