Four years ago, then the sailor, now a coach Yoichi Iijima of Yokohama visited Split and competed at the Olympic sailling Split Week, organized by JK Labud.

Did not achieve significant results (Laser), but then or now did not come to win but to learn from the best.
Yoichi:
- Yes. Croatian sailors are great, I follow a lot of their performances in races and over the internet. You have sailors who have great technique and tactics, and Yasuda, and I have come to learn more.

- Is this a popular sport in Japan?
Yoichi:
Not very popular, we don’t have a good sailors but because we are here to transfer knowledge to our sailors. We know even the Split sailors, they are very good.

- This year's competition is with a lot of wind.
Yoichi:
- Yes, especially today. I hope that it will not create problems.

- Do you hope the Olympics?
Yoichi:
- It would be great but we are not in competition for London. But the World Cup that may be waiting for us is new opportunity.

- Have you seen some other town in Croatia, when you were in our country?
- Four years ago I was ten days, but apart from Split I was not anywhere else. You have a really nice city and the excellent conditions for sailing. Croatia is a beautiful country and I will always come when I will be able to.

- Shinnosuke, are you satisfied with his performance after the first day?
Shinnosuke:
- It can always be better, so I came here to learn more and make it better.
