Daniel SOSW 2015

The second day of sailing on international regatta Split Olympic Sailing Week is complete. Race area was raised south of island Čiovo. In the Finn class today best sailed Pole Piotr Kula, while the best in Laser Standard was Tonči Stipanović from SC Mornar. Southwest wind Jugo with 12 knots at start of the 1st race keep falling and turning direction to the west. The race committee under such conditions, with plenty of effort, managed to lead one race for class Finn and Laser Standard. Laser Radial were very nervous and it was a lot of trial starts and disqualifications due to the premature start. Tomorrow consists of three races and start at 11 AM. According to the forecast expected Jugo.
Here is what first-ranked in Finn class Piotr Kula said after the race:

Today's sailing was very tricky, the wind was constantly turning to the right. Although I turn as third the first mark and earned a penalty soon after, I was able to carve out a leading position on the end of a race. I'm very glad that I managed to bring the Polish Team victory today because today is important day for Poles and Poland - Constitution Day. I'm also glad that significant Finn names participate in this regatta, such as Ivan Kljaković Gašpić, Vasilij Žbogar and others from the world's Finn's elite. This regatta is actually an preparation for the European Championship for a week. I'd also like to say that Split is one of my favorite cities in which I sailed, once I even thought that I should move here because of the good conditions for training and hospitality of people so I gladly keep coming to Split.
