Hi from Split, hello everyone, it is a second day of SOSW regatta. Fleet went out on the sea, second race is scheduled for 12:00h. As for now, there is no strong wind, about 10 kts from south, south-east and it is cloudy. Last info from the court is not such a good news; wind is going lower and lower :(

The first sailing day of the 11th edition of Split Olympic Sailing Week is behind us. The sea appeared 47 sailors in three Olympic sailing discipline: Finn, Laser Standard and Laser Radial. Start of the first race was held as estimated at 13:00, in the race area in front of Split's Zenta. By moderate southwest with 10 knots at the start of the race until the 4 knots at the end is determined by only one race each class, provided that Laser Standard and Radial races were shortened during the race. Finn sailors first sailed out of which the best was Pole Piotr Kula. In Laser Standard, the first through the finish line passed a member of SC Mornar Tonci Stipanovic, while in Laser Radial was the fastest member of YC Labud and current owner of the sixth place in the ISAF world rankings of the best sailor Tina Mihelic.

Warning signal will be announced tomorrow at 12:00. If weather permit, tomorrow will be held 3 races.

Lasers managed to finish Race 1, while Finn has started second race. Unfortunatelly wind was getting lower and lower until sailing conditiones become irregular. Only fair and possible decision from race committee was to stop the race, and after a short discussion, final decision is no more racing today. Fleet and judges are comming back to yacht club Labud.
