thumb_flota2_nIn spite of the inclement weather in the City of Split one month before the start of the international SOSW regatta, the provisional list has 90 entries from 15 countries.
The most numerous, Laser Class has tree competitors ranked among the first 10 on the current ISAF ranking list.
The two hosts are Tonći Stipanović and Milan Vujasinović while Andreas Geritzer from Austria, 5th on the ranking list will also sail in front of the Split harbor. Pavlos Contides from Cyprus, ranked 11th also sent his entry.
Among the 13 nations participating in the Laser Standard class, two representatives from distant Japan will also take part in the SOSW. Their names are Shinnosuke Yasuda and Jo Kota.
An interesting fact is the come-back of Polish competitor Maciej Grabowski who represented his country at the two former Olympic Games.
After competing shortly in the Star Class he returned to the Laser Class with the desire to meet the criteria for the upcoming Olympics.

thumb_gp_mornarCompetitors in the Laser Class will be able to stay in Split after the end of the regatta Split Olympic sailing Week.
To continue, Yacht Club Mornar is organizing their 2nd Grand Prix Mornar Regatta.
In such a way, for two weeks, Split will be host to the most numerous Olympic Class.

Grand prix Mornar notice of race

Surely you have noticed that the website of the Split Olympic Sailing Week assumed a new appearance. This is just one of the novelties. What is most interesting is the fact that this year's SOSW is at the same time the Croatian Open Championship. So, it comes as no surprise that the Croatian members of the Olympic team will be delighted to host their friends and rivals at the racing areas in front of the Split harbor.

Although last year was quite difficult, and because of the World Championships held in Australia many needed a rest, registration for the SOSW is well progressing, and already now we are certain that the number of applicants will be nearly as equal as last years'.
We believe that the regatta organization will be impeccable; the international jury consists of respectable members; the time of the venue is ideal to test the readiness and all there is to be done lies upon the yachtsmen who only need to register and truly enjoy sailing in the 8th SOSW.

With many good news that came to us from Perth 2011 one is of particular interest to Split Olympic Sailing week. Marianne Middelthon has accepted our invitation to be a jury chairman at the Split Olympic Sailing Week 2012.
Marianne Middelthon has impressive CV, as she was member of the jury at the Olympic Games at the Sydney,
