ŽBOGAR READY
After the announcement there won't be any sailing today the plateau in front of Labud cleared out quickly and the only sailor we met an hour later still looking toward the sky was Vasilij Žbogar from Slovenia.
- I'm here, I'm ready to race and go out on water- joked Žbogi, but still admitted he was sorry there was no racing today.
JURY
Other than organizers, members of JK Labud led by the alpha and omega of the regatta Mario Stipinović, Tuesday left some feeling nothing was done.
However International Jury was busy changing and polishing Sailing instructions while the measurement committee had an exam of sort. Two members of the committee under the tutelage of Jyri Sarskin went over the things need to know for the official exam to become an official measurer.
BOREDOM
It wasn't easy for the sailors on the first official racing day at the Finn European Championship. Everyone was waiting for the first signal to go on water however without wind...
It is why the fleet instead of going on water and sailing spent the day resting at the club. Some spent the day online, others talking and discussing their opinions of the equipment and sailing tactics, while some played pool.
Boredom was noticeable in Labud, at the club and in front of the hangar, where there was plenty of rain which didn't bother sailors as much as the lack of the wind did. Everyone was nervously awaiting notices from the Race Committee and when at 16:00 it was announced that there won't be any racing today everyone quickly cleared out from the club.
We hope tomorrow there will be more luck with wind....
FLEET STAYS ON SHORE
Even though forecast was favorable and the southern wind was expected fleet, consisting of 97 sailors from 26 nations, first day scheduled for the races on the Finn European championship remained on shore.
Morning came with no wind however sailors waited at the club hoping for that to change still as the afternoon passed it was obvious that there won't be any racing today (May 11th)!
So it was that at 16:00 AP over A flags were displayed on the mast in front of YC Labud confirming that no racing will be done.
Start of the first race is scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday May 12th at 11 o'clock.
Tonko Petešić, IRO, scheduled three races for tomorrow so we might make up at least some of today's missed races
